better me Privacy Policy

better me helps you keep personal health and wellness records on your iPhone. This policy describes the iPhone app.

Records on your iPhone

Results, checkups, symptoms, meals, medications, sessions, and their original sources are saved in encrypted app storage. The encryption key stays on this iPhone. The records and key are excluded from automatic device backup. better me has no account, app cloud service, advertising, tracking, or built-in analytics. The app reads only the photos and files you choose to add.

Apple Health

Apple Health access is optional. If you grant access, better me can read the categories you select and can write Mindful Minutes for breathing or meditation sessions after you turn that option on. Apple Health information and information derived from it are not sent to an outside chat provider. You can change Health permissions in iPhone Settings. Copies in Apple Health are managed through Apple Health and your device settings.

Optional chat providers

Chat can use an available on-device model. If you instead configure an outside provider and consent to its destination, better me sends your chat message, the records you explicitly select for that message, and the provider key you supplied to that provider. The provider handles what it receives under its own privacy policy. The app shows the destination and asks for consent before using an outside provider. Changing its configuration revokes that consent for future messages. You can use the rest of better me without outside chat.

Deletion

In Settings → Your data, choose Erase all data on this iPhone to remove app records, settings, and the encryption key. Removing the app also removes its local records. These actions cannot remove copies already written to Apple Health or sent to a provider; manage those copies at their destination.
